You don't have to worry about this site collecting and sharing your private information. You are not required to create an account here or to log in.
Nonetheless the server this site sits on records every visit in a log file. I am sure the log file is purged eventually but I don't know how often that happens.
If you ever see advertising on this site you should assume it sets one or more cookies in your browser. Cookies are like little post-it notes that Web browsers create to remember things. Most cookies don't threaten you. Advertising companies use cookies to help your browser remember which ads it has shown you.
The darker side of advertising cookies is that they may be used by advertisers to remember which Websites you visit. They do this so they can show you ads based on your browsing activities. This is called "interest-based advertising". Fortunately you don't have to put up with it. You can opt out of interest-based advertising with most major advertisers.
Unfortunately it's up to you to figure out where the opt out forms for each advertising network are. My suggestion is that you use Bing to search for them.
